After 2 years of promotions, FT Island to finally have major debut in the Japanese music market

5-member band FT Island will be doing their official debut in the Japanese music market after 2 years.

According to FNC Music on 27th April, “FT Island has signed up with Warner Music Japan in January. Come early May, they will be releasing their major single and will also do on broadcaat activities.”

It is known that the band will be heading to Tokyo to prepare for the single release on 27th April. Their agency rep revealed, “Unlike the other singers who will do their major debut right away, we did not do the same for this band, as we want them to gain experiences and learn through the various indie and
public performances before that.”

FT Island started out their Japanese indie market breakthrough in June 2008 with the song ‘Soyogi’. They went up as high as #9 on the Indie’s album Oricon daily chart in December 2008 with the song.

Meanwhile, there are plans for FT Island to do appearances at various medias and hold several public performances in 2010 in Japan. After their Japanese activities, for the 2nd half of 2010 they will be back in Korea with a new album to meet up with their Korean fans.
