Cover your ears. The sounds of teens screaming will be deafening as South Korean boy band TVXQ - better known as across Asia as Dong Bang Shin Ki - returns to Thailand later this month.
They'll be performing two shows at Impact Arena on June 27 and 28 as part of their third Asian tour.
With three recent concerts in South Korea that sold out in a few minutes, tickets here are reported to be selling fast.
"Dong Bang Shin Ki's upcoming concert will be on the same large scale as in South Korea," says Anuwat Wichiennarat, managing director of organiser 4 Nologue Media.
The budget for the shows is Bt70 million, with more than Bt20 million going for the stage production and just under Bt10 million on the six-metre-high, 54-metre-wide gigantic monitor. About 100 Koreans, including five lads in the band, are coming to Bangkok, along with three 40-metre containers containing the stage sets, production equipment, the lighting and sound system.
"We expect to have fans from all over Asia coming to Thailand because the concerts here will be the same as in South Korea and free of the constraints faced in China," says Anuwat.
Big enough for bicycles
"The stage will be designed like a cross with additional smaller stages and plenty of special effects. The band will also take a bicycle ride around the hall."
Dong Bang Shin Ki will probably be supported by Kim Kibum, or Key, one of the members of SM Entertainment's rising boy band, SHINee, who wowed Thai fans earlier this year.
Dong Bang Shin Ki are promoting their new studio album, "Mirotic", which has topped the charts in many Asian countries, including Thailand. It won the Album of the Year prize at 2008 MKMF Korean Music Festival Awards.
Four of the members contributed towards the new outing. Xiah Junsu wrote the track, "Picture of You", Max Changmin penned "Love in the Ice", Hero Jaejoong wrote "Don't Cry My Lover" and Micky Yoochun penned "Love Bye Love".
