The NEWS members acted as the main hosts for ‘24時間テレビ 32 愛は地球を救う / 24 Hour Television 32 Love Saves the Earth’. After the broadcast, the group attended the press conference. It was their first time to have been hosts for such a large scale TV program. Yamashita Tomohisa (24) said “We would like to thank all the people who appeared in the program, and also the staff. [Even after the program] NEWS will continue activities in a way that will cheer on Japan.” Nishikido Ryo (24) revealed a secret. “I was on the brink of tears for the whole time. But I managed. I was holding back tears throughout the entire show.” During the program Tegoshi Yuya (21) greeted with a hug Imoto Ayako (23) after she successfully completed the charity marathon. Tegoshi lauded Imoto’s tremendous feat. “The moment she reached the finish line, I was overwhelmed with emotion. She looked like an angel.”
