Horikita Maki to Hit the Screens As the Villainess!

Actress Horikita Maki will be staring in the movie "Byakuyakou" that is scheduled for release 2011 in spring and is based on the mystery novel of popular author Higashino Keigo. Horikita will be taking the role of a villainess, who
spreads the mysery among the people around her to stand apart herself. On this new kind of character she is challenging she commented: "I really want to play a woman, who pierces the heart of people seeing her."


During her high school time, Horikita had been reading the novel and as an avid fan of it, agreed to take over the role for the movie. "There are so many impressive tricks done by Yukiho. I am really looking forward to it. I think I will be able to display a side of myself I don't know yet.", she said about the role excitedly, seeming very eager to play the role of a wicked woman.


Higashino's works have until now been realized for the theater, TV series and eventually for a movie, due to their large popularity. The original story of "Byakuyakou" had been published in 1999 and ever since a great number of offers had reached the writer. However, it had taken 5 years until finally the story could be transformed into a movie that would incorporate the whole magnitude of the plot. To realize the movie after after persuading the author for 5 years, has the whole crew excited for the action.
