Hero Jaejoong makes successful acting debut in Japan

Hero Jaejoong of Korean idol group TVXQ has made a successful acting debut in a Japanese TV series which premiered on Fuji TV last week.

According to statistics released by a local research firm, the first episode of drama "Hard to Say I Love You" scored a 11.9 percent viewership rating, coming in second behind Asahi TV's popular crime drama "Omiya-san" with 15.4 percent.

"You", which airs every Thursday evening at 10 p.m., is a story of friendship between five young men and women who became acquaintances through Twitter, a popular social networking and micro-blogging service around the world.

Hero Jaejoong appears as a Korean medical equipment salesman alongside top Japanese actors Eita and Ueno Juri of smash hit TV series "Nodame Cantabile".

Hero, whose real name is Kim Jaejoong, debuted in 2004 as part of five-member boy band TVXQ. The group became one of the most phenomenal K-pop acts in the country and throughout Asia, selling numerous records and recently making history in the Japanese music scene.

TVXQ has been making headlines as of late for announcing that they will no longer be working in Japan as a group and that the members will go their separate ways to pursue individual careers.

The band had officially stopped working as a group in Korea since last July due to a legal dispute between three of its members -- Xiah Junsu, Hero Jaejoong and Micky Yoochun -- and talent agency SM Entertainment over their 13-year exclusive contract.

The three members had asked the court to nullify their contract with SM, claiming that their contract period was "too long", and the court had ruled in favor of them, ordering provisional disposition of the contract.

However, the legal battle heated up again when SM filed an objection against the court's decision and sued the three singers for KRW 2.2 billion won, demanding financial compensation for damages the agency allegedly suffered from the members' investment in cosmetics business and their cancelled concert in China.

Last Thursday, Xiah, Hero and Micky announced through their Japanese management agency AVEX that they had formed a new

Ratings Fall Below Expectations for New Ueno Juri Drama

Tohoshinki Discusses Secret to Success

Idol group Tohoshinki members JEJUNG and YUCHUN has been performing as a duo for a limited period! On September 30th they will release a single titled ‘COLORS~Melody and Harmony/Shelter’! The two composed and arranged the songs themselves. The songs feature simple yet beautiful harmonies that will be easy for fans to remember and sing along. A Japanese women’s magazine interviewed the two artists!

――Do you have any advice on how to sing the songs harmoniously in karaoke?
“Tohoshinki songs should be easier for women to sing. When trying to

"Songs" JaeChun Interview (Full)

PART 1

Achieving huge success during their Tokyo Dome Concert, Tohoshinki was also very energetic during A-nation. Amongst the 5 of them appeared the Special Project Unit, Jejung and Yuchun! Their natural message song, "Colors~Melody and Harmony~", and "Shelter", a song that is able to be at the top of the music industry, are the best songs that 2 have composed together. This single is not filled with just the unlimited charm of a singer, but as a composer!!

- "Colors~Melody And Harmony~" is a song that was performed during the Tokyo Dome Live Concert in July right?

YC: The person who first starting composing was Jejung. Then, because we realized that the song was suitable and followed the style of the both of us, we decided to use this as the song for our Tokyo Dome Concert solo. Also, the melody was composed by the both of us. The music of this song is something that we have not tried before and is a song that could only be completed when we are together.
JJ: As TVXQ performs a lot of songs that have the style of a minor department of black (T/N: Didn't quite get that, but I'm guessing it's R&B) so I wanted to compose a song, together with Yuchun, that everyone could enjoy together and a song that we could sing with everybody. As this song that I have previously wrote fits the image this time, we performed it at the Tokyo Dome as Jejung and Yuchun.

- Since the song was written by the both of you, how did you go about composing it?
JJ: Because no matter how busy work was, we had to cough out time to compose so I would first enter the tune into the computer and bring it to the hotel room and continue working on it.
YC: But "Colors~Melody And Harmony~" was a song that was quickly written finished with no stress at all.
JJ: If the person who wrote the song had very complicated thoughts, won't the listener feel the same way as well? However, if the composer has very simple and natural thoughts, then the content that is being shown to the listener is also very simple. Therefore, when we were composing, we were not thinking of very complicating thoughts.

- The both of you have been working together to compose and so far, what do you think of each other?
JJ: I have been criticized very strictly before. After going through a check, I also felt like I have grown a lot at the same time.

- What kind of strict criticism was it?
JJ: For example, "Why is still a song with this kind of feelings? It was like that previously too!"
YC: I was just saying that jokingly. (laughs)
JJ: Even if it was a joke, it was still quite strict. (Laughs) Yuchun is also very straight forward. If it's really good, he'll say "Very Good!" But if he's not happy with it, he would say what I said earlier. (Laughs)

- Then, regarding Yuchun's song, what are your thoughts?
JJ: Didn't he write a song called "Kiss The Baby Sky"? When I first heard that song, I suddenly thought, "Isn't he a genius?" He was able to merge loneliness as well as happiness intro a song, really surprising.
YC: Although the both of us use the same instruments but we come out with different products. Therefore, if I'm lacking something, Jejung would have it and if Jejung is

InRed Magazine Oct issue: Special Men’s File Jejung & Yuchun

InRed Special Men’s File

The special unit from popular group Tohoshinki,
A new musicality that is quite different, has been becoming an issue.
Do you think these two people are aiming for a new stage?
Jejung & Yuchun from Tohoshinki

I want to try to rent an amusement park! (Jejung)

The concert tour which mobilizes 300,000 people from Tokyo Dome performance and the rest of Japan. ‘Crushing force’ is the words and phrases that best fit this popular artist, Tohoshinki. Jejung and Yuchun are appearing as members of a special project from the group for a determined new release single.

‘The 5 members are always together, yet now from 5 people (to be active) only with 2 people together for the first time …… I need to throw away the shyness. (laughs)’ (Jejung)

The song ‘COLORS~Melody and Harmony~’ was first introduced through Tokyo Dome Concert. It’s intended to be image song of Hello Kitty 35th Born Anniversary and these two people took charge both in composition and arrangement.

‘The first attempt to call everyone’s attention was at Dome, the music itself has bright feeling, easy to remember, easy to be sung.. now I’m praising it myself (laughs). Usually to compose a song, it takes
us an exclusive time, but for this one, there wasn’t it! I think it’s before we did the live in Fukuoka? Quickly opened PC from the waiting room and made the arrangement… eventually it took us a flash timing which was about 30 minutes! We finished composing it and brought it out in amazing speed. Brilliant! (laughs)’ (Yuchun)

The part that becomes the point of the song?

‘The simplicity of its composition. Even when fans had listened to it for two times only, I want them to remember it easily, therefore something as simple melody was created. When we will be able to sing together with everyone in live, I guess it’s going to be delightful. The truth is, for a music that is completed only 30 minutes, we don’t really think about its quality anyway. (laughs)’ (Jejung)

At one verse of the lyrics, it says ‘The mind that is filled with colors in this world, to you giving the overflowing feeling’. This is associated with Hello Kitty’ Colors concept: Red = Friendship, Pink = Cute, Yellow = Heartful, Green = Wish, Purple = Sweet. With the concept like this, if the two of you are asked to assign these colors with any images?

‘Red is the members. Pink is Junsu! Every gestures of him are cute (laughs). Yellow is fans. Green is Dome. I still want to have more Dome performance. Purple….. Kitty (laughs). Ever since I was young, I recognize it as an image that is sweet and gentle that makes you want to hug it tight.’ Jejung answered with his mischiveous smile all over his face. Meanwhile, Yuchun?

‘Red………. both in present and keep going in the future, is also, the members! Fans got cute pink. Yellow is the president that is watching as audience in our live. When he has time in him, he takes care of us. Green is my 18th murderous younger brother. Purple is the staffs. Gentle, but also strict, it combines well……… right? (laughs)’

While collecting materials (for the magazine), these two people consistenty made fun to each other comments, even confronted face to face, which makes a good appearance between them. Unlike when they’re on stage, these 20th men had been behaving really cute. It’s giving an age-gap availability yet a charm that can stimulates us in our 30th. Then from these two people, sending a last message towards all 30th readers.

‘Japan’s 30th women are simply pure and shinning. Even though they’re already married, yet in front of her husband, she’d still say ‘Darlin’ ♥ ‘, the image of a young girl stays forever. For the 20th adults women, if you ask me, I think they have a very cute feeling. When you feel stressed out, please listen to ‘COLORS~Melody and Harmony’ before sleeping tight (laughs)’ (Jejung).

‘Even from now, let’s preparing to welcome a happy 40th. I think this song will encourage your spirit. Just like a gasoline, a source of force in bitterness. (laugh)’ (Yuchun)

TVXQ’s Junsu and Jaejoong to Switch Occupations?

During a recent cut from Bigeaststation, the members of TVXQ were confronted with the question "Does Korea have gigolo clubs? If there are, who will be the famous one amongst TVXQ members?"

How does one even respond to a question like that? Yoochun did not hesitate in the least and immediately stated, "For me, I think there will be two of them, yes, it has to be these two. We can call these two as 'S-Line' who are none other than JunSu and JaeJoong. JunSu is full of charisma and is very attractive, though
his character is just so so... This is what I think. JaeJoong looks like a doll, is pretty, and is stylish."

JS: Cold, cold too…
YC: Even though he seems cold to people…
JS: Giving a very calm feeling, that’s…
YC: GENIUS!!!!
JS: That kind of a bad-boy image, that’s how he attracts so many girls.
JJ: No, no…
JS: YA. That’s really nothing…
JJ: No, cannot! If I’m a gigolo, I can’t speak eloquently.
YC: Then you are a gigolo with a good heart?
-ALL LAUGH-
JS: You can only say it if you really meant it in your heart…
JJ: If I’m a gigolo, at least I have to be one who's able to move people’s hearts.
JS: How about YooChun? Can’t? But YooChun really does have his “S-Line,” you can do it…
JJ: Eh. YooChun can do it, yes.
YC: Maybe I should give it a try...
JS: Then FIGHTING!!
