3 Johnny's to star in a drama together... maybe

According Tokyo Sports, Fuji TV is planning on a special end of the year program, tentatively titled "Super TV," which will feature a drama starring some very big names.

For the first episode they've roped in Kimura Takuya, Kamenashi Kazuya, and Akanishi Jin.

Fuji wants this to be a very high quality production, so the drama is expected to have a large, movie-sized budget - at least 300,000,000 yen (approx $3.2 million). They plan on recovering costs by holding screenings at independent theaters, releasing a DVD, and even selling it overseas.

Allegedly, Kimura was decided first and after he expressed a desire to work with them, Kamenashi and Akanishi were chosen.

The drama will be an original script about three brothers whose family was split up when they were young. After the passing of their father, they come together again and start life anew. With new lives comes new loves as all three of them fall for the landlord's daughter. In this funny and heart-warming story, the brothers will butt heads, but their love for each other will continue to grow.

Gianna Jun declares interest in Takuya Kimura at promotion for 'Last Blood'

Korean actress Gianna Jun, 27, attended a special preview this week with co-star Koyuki, 32, in Shibuya for the Japan premiere of “Blood: The Last Vampire.” Jun, better known as Ji-hyun Jun, changed her name for the release of the movie which was filmed in English.

Based on the Japanese animated film released in 2000, Jun plays a katana-wielding half-human/half-vampire who hunts full-blooded vampires, both to rid the world of them and due to the fact they are her only source of food.

At the premiere, Jun chose SMAP’s Takuya Kimura as a man she would like to star with, saying he is a great actor. Kimura happened to be promoting the release of his own upcoming movie “I Come With The Rain” in Roppongi on Wednesday night, and Koyuki made a sly remark thanking everyone for coming to see their movie and not his.

“Blood: The Last Vampire” (billed as “Last Blood” in Japan) opens in cinemas on Friday.

Takuya's Mr Brain big in Japan

The new Japanese drama Mr Brain, starring Takuya Kimura, received overwhelming response on its debut broadcast.

The drama won a 24.8% viewership rating, the most watched TV drama of spring. It also broke the viewership records set by the last episode of Rookies last year and claims the position as the highest rating programme shown during that particular timeslot.

Despite rumours that the plot of the drama is a copycat version of Suspect X, netizens expressed otherwise after watching the first episode of Mr Brain. They complimented the cast for their excellent performance and expressed that the plot is totally different from Suspect X.

In view of the poor response to recent dramas by actors Masahiro Nakai and Yuji Oda, the TV station invited pop idol Hiro Mizushima and Haruka Ayase and Kimura to appear in Mr Brain, with guest performers featured in every episode; the first being actress Ryoko Hirosue who was recently made famous at the Oscars with the movie Departed. Kamenashi Kazuya and the popular Takeru Sato will also be appearing in subsequent episodes.

In the drama, Kimura is a social escort who injured his brain in an accident but became more intelligent from it. He is later recruited into the Metropolitan Police Science Institute as part of a police task force.
