SS501 Kim HyunJoong is back in Korea

After being hospitalised in Japan for swine flu, SS501 leader Kim Hyun Joong was discharged from hospital on the 15th September. And on 16th September, he has returned to Korea.

On September 16th at 2PM, Kim Hyun Joong arrived through KimPo Airport. He even brought the documents from the hospital that the H1N1 virus has fully been cured.

His virus had been fully cured. It was said that HyunJoong’s voice had also gotten better to the relief of many fans.

Kim HyunJoong had begun to feel unwell from 5th and 6th September during an event for drama ‘Boys Over Flowers’. And then on 7th September when they were heading to the airport to return to Korea, he suddenly developed high fever. He was tested positive for swine flu after being rushed to the hospital.

Kim Getting Better From Influenza

South Korean pop idol and actor Kim Hyun-jung is recovering from his contraction of influenza A (H1N1) in Tokyo, his manager said Wednesday.

Kim was quoted as saying, ``I am sorry to have surprised fans. I will make efforts to get better and meet with fans soon."

Kim, a member of boy band SS501, was confirmed to have been infected with the contagious disease Tuesday and is now hospitalized in Tokyo.

Kim's manager said, ``His fever fell overnight and his sore throat eased a lot. He sounded OK this morning.''

Kim was the first Korean celebrity to be diagnosed with the disease, which has already affected more than 6,000 people in South Korea.

Kim is reportedly nervous about being absent from the Seoul Drama Awards, which will be held in Seoul Friday. He is projected to win the Asian best actor award.

According to Japanese showbiz insiders, Kim visited a hospital in Japan Tuesday after suffering from a high fever.

He was given the antiviral drug Tamiflu and placed in an isolation ward, where he may stay for 15 days.

Kim gained international fame after starring in the KBS smash hit ``Boys Over Flowers'' as a handsome tycoon heir earlier this year. He went to Japan to promote the drama and was supposed to be there from Saturday through Monday.

Seoul Drama Awards – 1st for Male Actor Category

SS501’s Kim Hyun Joong has been chosen for the 1st place in the Male Actor category for Seoul Drama Awards. Kim HyunJoong won the greatest number of votes from netizen and will take his winning on the Total Best Male Actor from the total votes from Korea, Japan and Overseas category, at ‘Seoul Drama Awards 2009’ to be held on 11-Sep at Seoul Bangee-dong Olympic Park’s Olympic Hall.

Kim Hyun Joong received a lot of popularity through the role of F4 Yoon Ji Hoo in KBS 2TV ‘Boys Over Flowers’ which is also named the best drama in this award. With SBS drama ‘Iljimae’, actor Lee Jun Ki’s votes are just behind Kim Hyun Joong.

Meanwhile, in the female actress category, actress Moon Geun Young won first with SBS TV ‘Painter of the Wind’ while Han Hyo Joo with SBS TV ‘Iljimae’ won second place.

Kim HyunJoong : “I was not admitted in hospital for a week, have finished medical treatment on 8th”

The news that SS501 Kim HyunJoong to be admitted to hospital turns out to be groundless.

Kim HyunJoong’s company representative said to Newsen on 16th through a phone conversation “It is not true that he has been admitted to hospital. His condition is not good with flu symptoms and his waist is aching on 8th, so he received medical treatments in the hospital and seems like there was a misrepresentation in the reports.”

He added “Kim HyunJoong had been busy with his schedules even after the filming of ‘Boys Over Flowers’, thus not able to have a good rest. In addition, he has not fully recovered from the injuries suffered in the car accident during the filming of the drama. He is currently resting at home with not much schedules on hand.”

He explained more “The Thailand concert was cancelled was we can’t work out on the flight arrangement, etc. We have to fly through Bangkok to reach Koh Samui, so the time constraint will make it difficult for us to finish our schedule. We have postponed the Thailand promotional activities to later half of this year.”

He added “He went home immediately after receiving medical treatment at the hospital on 8th. I hope the fans would not have any misunderstanding.”

Meanwhile, SS501 will have a rest this week and from next week onwards, they will take on activities such as CF filming, etc. And they will be preparing for their Asia Tour concert that starts from August onwards.

Apparently lots of people. Kim Hyun Joong took the top spot as the male celebrity whom women want to be kissed by. Jewelry brand Stylus by Golden Dew in honor of 6/14's Kiss Day [Yes, there is apparently a Kiss Day*] took a survey on their homepage asking "Which male celebrity would you want to be kissed by?"

The results came out as 34% wanting to receive a kiss from Kim Hyun Joong followed by a very close 32% wanting to be kissed by Lee Min Ho. This seems to show the lingering popularity of the F4 and the BOF effect. 3rd place was Song Seung Hun with 15%, then Jo In Sung (13%) in 4th place, and 5th place by Lee Seung Gi (6%).

Kim Hyun Joong Sent To Hospital

Kim Hyun Joong, the Leader of ss501 was brought to the hospital at dawn of June 8 because he is unconcious from high fever. He is currently going through condition check-up and resting at the hospital. Due to this unexpected circumstance, his schedule in Thailand on 8-10 of June has to be postponed. However, the release of second album in July and Asia tour concert in the beginning of August is expected to be on schedule.

SS501 nears 4th anniversary but Hyun Joong quarrelled with members over love?

Korean star Kim Hyun Joong became popular after acting in "Boys over Flower", resulting in the popularity and questions about the group he belongs to "SS501" to increase as well. Even though they've never officially released an album in Taiwan, 99% of the tickets to the first fan meeting in Taiwan within the 1st week of sale. To thank the Taiwan fans for their support, SS501, who's 4th anniversary is on 8th June, announced officially that all their albums and singles will be released by Warner Music Taiwan in Taiwan, allowing fans who couldn't hear their songs previously to gradually be able to.

SS501, who will be coming to Taiwan on 28th June, has been busy recently, preparing for their album during the end of May, spending a week to film an MV that's almost 20 minutes long. In the MV, the 5 members act as callous and heartless killers for the first time, Kim Hyun Joong and Park Jung Min even pointed guns to each other's chest to fight for the woman they love, the 2 of them also have exciting fighting scenes with Kim Kyu Jong, on the whole the MV portrays an exciting and tense atmosphere, the members also felt wonderful after acting out their roles.

Upon hearing their albums will be released by Warner Music Taiwan, SS501 specially wore suits to record a video and say hi to their Taiwan fans, after wearing the suits, SS501, who's average age is 23, look more mature, announcing that they've "grown up"; apart from being very happy that tickets to the fan meeting were nearly sold out in such a short time, they also expressed their hopes to come and meet the fans soon. During the interview, the 5 members who've never been to Taiwan, tried their best to show as much of the Chinese words they knew, among them, Kim Hyun Joong, who'll be turning 24 on 6th June, still remembered his Chinese line in "Boys over Flower" "Please buy an ice cream", the members also expressed that before they come to Taiwan, they'll work hard to memorize some Chinese, and definitely would not let everyone down!

Warner Music plans to release 2 albums, the members solo singles and a special compilation album, on the day they arrive in Taiwan, to allow fans to revise the hottest songs by SS501, and sing along with their idols during the fan meeting. From next Wednesday, 10th June, onwards, SS501's lively dance song "Deja Vu" will be released via all media and online outlets. The members expressed their hopes of visiting Taipei 101 during this trip, however they might be disappointed! Korea's management company boasted that the members are young and energetic, they work without complaints and aren't afraid of hardships, and due to Kim Hyun Joong's high popularity, invitations for appearances keep coming, a string of promotional activities has already been arranged on Taiwan's part, aiming to let SS501 challenge the record for the most activities among stars who visit Taiwan, therefore they are unlikely to be able to witness the beauty of Taipei 101. Samsung Haptic Mission Season 2 Preview

Samsung's Anycall Haptic Mission CF Season 1 featuring F3 members (Kim Bum, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Joon) and Son Dambi was a big success for Samsung. Kim Hyun Joong: "hooked on dancing", On The Eve Of Asian Tour In July

Kim Hyun Joong has been infatuated with dancing while preparing for the Asia Tour concert starting in July. He and SS501 other members had returned to Korea from a one week long trip to LA, after performing for the Hollywood Bowl concert. During the performance in LA, Hyun Joong had met and consulted new dance moves from a famous dance group. Although the duration of meeting was short, he managed to practise and learn some of the well-known American style dance moves.

SS501's entertainment company said, " The moment Hyun Joong returned back to Korea, he immediately starts to practise dacing in the dance studio on 14th morning. During the period when he went to Japan for Boys Before FLowers fan meeting, he also paid special attention to Japanese style of dancing.

Kim Hyun Joong explained that the reason for him paying close attention to the different styles of dancing was so that he could demonstrate a variety of dance movements, different from what he used to dance, during the Asia Tour Concert, which starts from South Korea, and proceed to Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand and other Asian countries.

After the recent release of SS501 second japanese album, All My Love, SS501's official activites in Japan are also approaching. Because the activities and public performances are just around the corner, Hyun Joong expressed that he is very nervous.

SS501 will return to Korea on the 18th to continue with their promotional activities for their album, All My Love, and prepare for their oncoming concert.

Kim HyunJoong, “… I Really Dislike Yoon JiHoo’s Way Of Speaking”

SS501 Kim Hyun Joong was on KBS ‘Entertainment Weekly’ on 9th May where he revealed about how he dislike talking like his character Yoon Ji Hoon in the drama Boys Over Flowers.

He said on the show, “What I dislike most is Yoon Ji Hoo’s way of speaking. He speaks with so much reservations and shame.” In the show, Kim Hyun Joong had to deliver lines like ‘If there is the blue sky and wind, I can go anywhere’ etc.

He went on, “I agree that Yoon Ji Hoo has so much money, and he works out well. And I will want to be like him in these ways."

“Plans for other activities ahead are still not decided yet. But I can say we are aiming at a larger stage, ahead Asia and Korea, we will go even all the way to Africa.”
